All breeders wait anxiously for spring as that is the time when the mares have foals. We wait to see the foals, to start to introduce them to the man and to get to know them in the first days. This year we have 12 foals, sired by Aron frá Strandarhöfði, Þóroddur frá Þóroddstöðum, Fróði frá Staðartungu and of course the stallion prospect Þrym frá Húsafelli (which was sold abroad this spring).
The foals all look very good and we seem to have many quality foals this year.
Picture on left: Dögun, the offspring of the Ydda (daughter of Þóroddur) and Alvari frá Brautarholti, and an unnamed bay horse sired by Þrymur show the camera a great deal of interest.
Picture on right: Griffla frá Geitaskarði with its first offspring, Myrkvi, - sired by Fróði frá Staðartungu.
