


Accommodation is provided on the top floor of the farmhouse. The house, three stories high, was completed in 1910, and is one of the oldest concrete structures in Iceland. It is more a home away from home, than a commercial lodging. The surrounding environment is typical of Icelandic landscape, warm and friendly and steeped in the history of the Icelandic sagas.
There are several exellent walking trails in the vicinity, a spectacula one will take the hiker through Skarðsskarð (Translated Goat Pass) and over into Laxárdalur, which is a summer paradise for both humans and animals. The proprietors also operate a breeding facility for the famous Icelandic Horse. In previous years, our guests have been able to participate in the yearly horse gatherings, and the consequent roundup (réttir at Laxárdalur and in Skrapatungurétt, a short distance from Geitaskarð
